Cole Sillinger, age 18, was born in Columbus, Ohio, the United States on 16 May 2003. He is the youngest son of his parents, Mike Sillinger and Karla Sillinger. His father is Canadian and his mother is American. 

His dad, Mike, is a former professional hockey player. Mike played for the Columbus Blue Jackets as a forward. Besides, Cole has two older brothers named Owen Sillinger and Lukas Sillinger. Both of his brothers play collegiate hockey at Bemidji State University in the NCAA.

Cole grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan with his family. He also briefly resided in Phoenix, Arizona, St. Louis, Missouri and Garden City, New York. The player belongs to a white ethnic group and his height is 6 feet or 1.83 meters.

Cole penned an entry-level contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets when he joined the team in 2021. He signed a three-year deal worth $2,775,000.

As per his contract, Cole received an average base salary of $832,500 for the 2021-22 season. In the meantime, his salary remains the same for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons.

Before entering the NHL playfield, Cole played in the Western Hockey League for the Medicine Hat Tigers. Later, he agreed to a one-year loan proposal from the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League.

Cole was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets as the 12th overall pick on 23 July 2021 in the NHL Entry Draft. Eventually, the player recorded his first NHL career hat trick in the game against the Vegas Golden Knights on 13 March 2022.
